May Dayz 2012

On Saturday, 26 May 2012, Heritage of Healing held its Fifth Annual Pipe Ceremony and Water Ceremony to honor the Veterans who sacrificed that we may have the right to pray in these traditional ways. The gathering was held at the Tree of Life, planted by the Plaque dedicated to Vietnam Veterans by Native Americans, in Section 8 of Arlington National Cemetery. The ceremony was attended by members of Rolling Thunder, and Heritage of Healing’s lead Spirit Runner, Zakiah Phillips, was honored to be allowed to carry Rolling Thunder’s official Flame of Freedom for a second time. The Spirit Run from the Tree to the Front Gate was accompanied by an escort of 20 motorcycles.

Summer Camp 2012

In July 2012, Heritage of Healing plans to provide a two-week Summer Camp experience to learn about Marine environments in Florida for 5 children from families experiencing cancer.
